FAQ

Questions about registering your child for Vancouver Eagles Basketball Winter Season:

Vancouver Eagles Basketball has served youth the Vancouver community for more than 20 years. With around 350 players each season, we have experienced coaches, successful players at all levels, and a strong commitment to the community.

When you register your child, you can choose how many practices per week based on what fits your family’s schedule. For consistent skill development, we recommend a minimum of 2 practices per week. However, we know there are seasons when that might not fit your schedule, and dropping to a lower frequency will still allow your child the chance to maintain their skills and connection to the sport.

We believe being involved in sports can help students in their academic performance and overall life success. With our flexible registration options, you can choose the dates, locations, and frequency that fit your family’s schedule and your child’s academic routines. Many of our players have gone on to highly successful careers, benefiting from the confidence, self-belief, and work ethic they developed through their basketball experience.

Winter season runs from January 5 – March 9, 2026. Our first practices are designed to create a sense of teamwork in the group. New players can join after the season starts — in that case, we coordinate with parents for a smoother entry. Please email info@vancouvereagles.com for late registrant information.

Beginners are welcome. Many children join in Winter for the very first time. Our coaches support each individual player to show up at their best, challenging each player to grow through our development pathway.

Our coaches specialize in creating welcoming, encouraging environments and routines that help kids settle in quickly. You may speak with your child’s coach if you have any specific concerns or questions about helping your child feel comfortable.

Absolutely. Winter is a natural reset point. Players progress quickly with consistent guidance.

Indoor shoes, a water bottle, comfortable athletic wear, and a basketball.

We send timely emails for schedule reminders or changes.

Confidence. Resilience. Focus. Social skills. Kids gain more than basketball. They grow as people.

If space allows in another session, we can help with an occasional make-up. Just reach out by email to discuss your options.
