With over 20 years of playing experience and 10 years of coaching experience, Simon is passionate about sharing his love for the game. In high school, Simon played all 5 years on his high school basketball team and was named MVP in his senior year. Simon’s positive, patient coaching approach helps build confident and capable athletes.
Amy was a member of the McMaster Women’s Basketball Team from 2020 to 2025. During her university career, she earned OUA All-Rookie Team honours in the 2021 to 2022 season and was named an OUA Third Team All-Star in 2024 to 2025. She was also recognized with the Outstanding Graduating Athlete Award during the 2024 to 2025 academic year. Alongside her playing career, Amy has been actively involved in coaching, working with the Hamilton Steel Town Athletic Club from September 2022 to April 2025 and serving on the McMaster Sport Camps Coaching and Leadership Team during the summers from 2021 to 2025. Amy brings high-level playing experience, strong leadership, and a passion for athlete development to every environment she coaches.
Maggie has experience coaching at both the school and community levels. She coached the Grade 8 girls basketball team at J.N. Burnett Secondary School during the 2023 to 2024 season, leading the team to a third-place finish in the district. From 2024 to 2025, Maggie coached with Night Hoops, and coached the Crofton House School during the 2025 to 2026 season. Maggie brings a positive, supportive approach to coaching and is committed to helping players build confidence, teamwork, and strong fundamentals.
Alex’s love for coaching goes beyond teaching ball; he’s passionate about helping young people become great, on and off the court. For over 15 years, he’s helped youth at Vancouver Eagles develop the skills and mindset to succeed wherever life takes them. Alex started playing basketball over 25 years ago, as a C/F on his high school team. He played multi-tournament games in All City tournaments and has won medals and trophies for his successes. During his military service, Alex was a starter on his base team, and today he is one of the most senior coaches at Vancouver Eagles Basketball!
Marwan was a starter on his basketball team at Rockridge High School. During the 2023–2024 season, he served as head coach for the Grade 8 basketball team, where they won the Division 1 NSSSAA (North Shore Secondary School Athletic Association) championship. Marwan has been coaching with the Vancouver Eagles since January 2025.
Izrael grew up playing basketball from the age of five. In high school, he earned recognition by winning free-throw competitions and was later named Rookie of the Year. His high school team went on to compete at the provincial level.
Izrael discovered his passion for coaching when he started reffing. Since 2023, he has coached at PAMBA, teaching basketball fundamentals to young players, and at Rain Basketball Academy, where he mentors younger high-school players
With over 22 years of coaching experience, Jason brings a steady, supportive approach to player development. He played on the men’s teams at Queen’s University and Sir Sandford Fleming College before beginning his coaching career with the Ontario Basketball Association in Peterborough in 2004. Since then, Jason has coached in a wide range of school, club, and provincial programs across Ontario and British Columbia, including Glenlyon Norfolk School in Victoria, Gladstone Secondary in Vancouver, and Cambie Secondary in Richmond. In 2014 he served as a basketball and life coach with Pay It Forward Night Hoops, supporting at-risk youth, and in 2016 he coached at the Provincial Boys Basketball team. Alongside his role with the Vancouver Eagles, Jason has been a skills and development coach at Split Second Academy since 2022.
